Born and raised in the South East suburbs of Melbourne, the now 22 year old started learning to play the drums when he was 3. Although it was only with chopsticks, pots and pans. It started a burning passion for the instrument that would continue into his adult life.

After destroying enough eating cutlery, his musically supportive family of drummers, quickly sat him on a real kit and gave him some sticks.

That kit was his Grandpa Bill Ellis's, a seasoned jazz drummer in Geelong, who played a big part in shaping the West Coast Jazz scene for over 30 years, and supporting young drummers. However, the kit that started his musical journey was his Dad's Yamaha Stage Custom.

Excited to learn the instrument on this awesome kit, he was taught by his Dad Jamie and Uncle Julien before the age of 8. Then he began to receive drum lessons from local teachers which he continued all through school, before he started playing with other musicians and writing original songs with his friends. This is where Mack's passion for music skyrocketed and became the driving passion in his life.

Heavily influenced by drummers such as Steve Judd, Taylor Hawkins, Stewart Copeland and Steve Gadd, Mack is an active musician working on multiple projects and a full time Carpenter.

Releasing new music with his Rock band 'Baby Mullet', still playing with his best mates from school and also recording music at home under the name Splikak.

Mack wants to continue learning and experimenting with all styles of drumming and is excited by the challenge of playing in a range of different genres
