Mina, growing up in a family full of classical pianists, did the only thing that seemed fitting; She started playing drums.
Starting out at 17 years old attempting to play along to bands such as Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Cro-Mags on a cheap electronic drum kit and playing with friends for leisure, she was later approached in 2016 by Kate McGuire, one of the founding members of Brisbane-based VOIID.
VOIID have been a group to watch from the very start, and have shared the stage with Australian icons such as DZ Deathrays, Clowns, Grinspoon, Amyl and the Sniffers and even International acts like The Coathangers and Dwarves.
Known for not shying away from sensitive discussions within their lyricisms with songs like “Sour” and “Bug”, and providing punchy and invigorating live shows, VOIID don’t plan on slowing down any time soon, recently wrapping up recording their debut LP.
